Noyes, the executive director of the group Utah Diné Bikéyah talks with Matt about a very timely issue: the campaign to protect the Bears Ears wilderness area in southeastern Utah. They talk about last week’s combative legislative hearing in which Republican legislators limited testimony from the Native American leaders Noyes works with. He also talks about the many decades of looting (including this case from 2009) that sacred sites in the region have experienced. For more information, check out the Bear Ears Inter-Tribal Coalition.
